Why compare two PDFs
When a contract, a quote or a set of rules comes back with corrections, rereading both versions line by line is slow and risky. Compare PDF documents here: every word added or removed is highlighted, so you can spot a changed clause, a modified amount or a sentence deleted without notice in moments.
The tool compares text only: changes to layout, fonts or images are not flagged. A scanned PDF contains no text the tool can read, so run it through OCR PDF first. The result is shown on screen, with no file to download.
Frequently asked questions
Are my files safe?
Yes. Your two PDFs are compared in your browser. Nothing is sent to our servers.
Are layout changes detected?
No. Only the text is compared: a replaced image, a changed font or a modified layout are not flagged.
How do I compare two PDF files and read the result?
The two texts are shown side by side. Added words are highlighted, deleted words are crossed out.
My PDF is a scan, will it work?
Not directly: a scan is an image with no text. Run it through OCR PDF first, then compare the resulting versions.
Do I need an account?
No. LordOfThePDF works without signing up and without an email address.
