Why unlock a PDF
Typing a password every time quickly gets tiresome for a document you open often, like your bank statements or invoices, and some PDFs open freely but block printing or copying text. Unlock PDF lets you remove PDF restrictions, so the file can be used freely and processed with the other tools.
The tool doesn't guess or crack passwords: you need to know the one that opens the document. Only a PDF limited by simple restrictions can be freed without a password. Use this tool only on your own documents or with their owner's permission.
Frequently asked questions
Are my files safe?
They are processed on our servers and deleted as soon as the unlocked PDF is sent back to you. Nothing is kept, neither the file nor the password.
Can I remove password from PDF files if I forgot it?
No. The tool removes a password you know, it doesn't try to guess it.
My PDF opens but I can't print it, what can I do?
It only has a restriction password. Leave the field blank and start unlocking: printing and copying work again.
Am I allowed to unlock this document?
Use the tool only on your own documents or with their owner's permission.
Do I need an account?
No. LordOfThePDF works without signing up and without an email address.
