When you need a PDF under 200 KB
If you need to compress PDF to 200KB, a portal has probably set that limit: recruitment sites, scholarship applications, exam registrations and administrative services, in India and elsewhere, often cap documents at 200 KB, for example a CV, a degree certificate, a caste or income certificate or a proof of address. A few scanned pages from a phone app can easily weigh 1 or 2 MB, so they get rejected.
200 KB leaves a bit more room than 100 KB: a scan of three to five pages usually fits while staying readable. A long report with color photos may not. In that case the tool gives you the lightest result it reached and tells you its size. Split the document, drop pages that are not required, or rescan in grayscale, then compress again.
Frequently asked questions
How can I reduce my PDF size to 200KB?
Add your file on this page: the 200 KB target is preset. The tool tries stronger and stronger settings and stops as soon as the PDF is under 200 KB, so there is nothing to adjust.
Will the text still be readable?
Yes. Text and lines stay sharp because only the images inside the PDF are recompressed. On a scanned document, everything is an image, so check the result: if it looks blurry, rescan in black and white or keep fewer pages.
What if my PDF can't get under 200KB?
You get the smallest version the tool could make, with its size shown. To go lower, split the PDF and upload only the pages that are asked for, or remove photos and blank pages.
Is my document safe?
It is processed on our server during the request and deleted right after the compressed PDF is sent back to you. Nothing is stored.
Do I need to create an account?
No. The tool is free and works without signing up or giving an email address.
